Aims of this activity
- Keeping the eyes on one line without jumping to other lines (visual tracking)
- Telling which line continues where lines cross
- Following the line all the way to the end without losing focus (sustained attention)
Lines start at the pictures on the left and cross each other on their way to the numbers on the right.Your child follows one line with the eyes and writes the number it reaches in the box next to the picture.Where lines cross, or where a line takes a long detour, your child has to stay on the same line without switching to another. The activity aims to build the ability to follow a line with the eyes (visual tracking) and to keep going until the end.

Tips
- At first, it is fine to trace the line with a finger. Once your child is used to it, try following with the eyes only.
- Levels 1 and 2 have two puzzles per page. To reduce what your child sees at once, fold the page along the dotted line and do one at a time.
- If following a line is really hard, or your child keeps jumping to other lines, they can trace each line with a different colored pen or crayon.
- Children who cannot write numbers yet can point or say the answer instead.
- Write the time it took at the bottom of the page so you can compare next time.
If it is too hard
- Go down one level.
- Trace the line with a finger while following it.
- Trace each line with a different colored pen or crayon.
- For Levels 1 and 2, fold the page in half and do one puzzle at a time.
If it is too easy
- Go up one level.
- Follow the lines with the eyes only, without a finger.
- Record the time and see whether your child can finish a little faster than last time.
