Aims of this activity
- Seeing the exact position and direction of each line, using the dots as guides (visual-spatial relations)
- Looking back and forth between the example and the empty grid (eye movements and shifting attention)
- Drawing lines that match what is seen (eye-hand coordination)
Your child copies the lines drawn on the example grid onto the empty dot grid beside it.To copy correctly, they need to see exactly which dot each line starts and ends at.The activity aims to build the ability to judge the position and direction of lines, and to move the hand to match what the eyes see.

Tips
- One or two pages at a time is plenty.
- Before starting, point to the top-left dot of the example and the same dot on the empty grid, and say, "These are the same spot."
- Naming a dot's position, such as "second from the top, third from the left," can help your child check where a line goes.
- To check the answers, place the answer page next to the worksheet and compare one line at a time.
- Write the time it took at the bottom of the page so you can compare next time.
If it is too hard
- Go down one level.
- After copying a line, trace it on the example with a finger to mark it as done.
If it is too easy
- Go up one level.
- Record the time and see whether your child can finish a little faster than last time.
